Teens play GTA
by Hector Cortez

Wednesday, September 17, 2003

According to a poll, more than 70% have played.

According to a new Gallop company poll released on Tuesday more than 70% of American teenage boys have played at least one game in Take-Two’s violent Grand Theft Auto series, despite the games all having a ‘Mature’ age rating.

The study showed that twice as many boys who had played the game reported having been in a fight last year, although the survey’s authors have fallen short of suggesting a direct link between game violence and real-life behavior.

The survey also found that 62% of teenagers play games at least one hour a week, while 25% play six or more hours per week. More than a third of the 517 teenagers aged 13 to 17 though claimed never to play video games at all.
