Indie Games Con 2003 speakers announced

Speakers include representatives from Shockwave, and RealArcade.

GarageGames announced today the line-up of speakers for Indie Games Con ’03.

IGC will feature over 25 sessions scheduled in five tracks -- Technical, Artist, Tools & Techniques, Business,and new this year a Peer-2-Peer Track covering rollouts and post-mortems from independents.

Guest speakers include John Welch (VP of Games & Product Development, Shockwave), David Nixon (Game Production Group Manager, RealArcade) and Ron Powers (Director of Business Development, GameHouse) who will present on Online Gaming. Joining IGC from the UK, Phil Carlisle will be presenting on AI and offering a post mortem on Worms and Worms 3D for indies, Bill Linn of Linn Strategies will speak on PR for independents. In addition to independent game artists and programmers, founders and representatives from GarageGames, Arena Unlimited, 21-6 Productions, O'Reilly Publishing, DavidRM Software, Midnight Ryder Technologies, Max Gaming and BraveTree Productions will also be presenting.

"IGC is about building a dialog and having discussions that will take independent game development to the next level," comments Jeff Tunnell, President of GarageGames. "This year looks to address many of the topics of greatest concern to independents, defining markets, building and sustaining teams and collaborating on everything from coding to marketing."

Register online before September 19th and pay only $150. The fee includes a three-day pass, including sessions, food, parties and a t-shirt. Space is limited so reservations will be on a first come first serve basis. Registrations after September 19th will be $195. Register or find more information at www.indiegamescon.com. ICG takes place in Eugene, Oregon with onsite check-in beginning at noon on October 10th and the final session wrapping up at 4pm on October 12 th.
