The Austin Game Initiative, producers of September's Austin Game Conference, announced a new event that will discuss how professionals and students can get a career in the thriving video game industry - either at the ground floor or transferring their exiting skills and experience. The half day event - How to Break Into The Games Industry - will take place at the Commons Center on the JJ Pickles Research Campus in Austin on November 15 from 8:30am to 3:00pm. Professionals will learn how their experience and transferable skills can gain them rapid entry into this industry. Students will find out how to build a professional road map to a career in the game industry. Attendees are invited to bring their resumes.
The comprehensive program will provide an overview of the industry, identify technology trends and requirements as well as the qualifications and skill-sets that are in demand. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with industry insiders, including recruiter Mary-Margaret.com, hiring managers from local game companies and facility from the Guildhall at SMU as well as network and meet with industry veterans. Attendees will learn what employers are looking for now and in the future. Full details of the program can be found at http://www.austingame.com/breakin/
