Tournament-Style Gaming Beckons Gamers to Compete For Over $150,000 in Cash and Prizes.

The V Games (http://www.thevgames.com) a console and PC-based video game tournament, is counting on gamers from around the country to show off their latest tricks, skills and strategies as they compete for thousands of dollars in prizes and recognition as one of the best gamers in the country. In an alliance announced today, GameFly (http://www.gamefly.com), the world’s leading online video game rental service offering the best selection and availability, will be an exclusive category sponsor for the 2004 V Games.

Also sponsored by Ziff Davis Media Game Group and EB Games, the 2004 V Games, an Entertainment Software Promotions event, will begin in March and continue through October of 2004; visiting 30 major cities along the way. An estimated 30,000 people will compete in six of the top video games nationwide. Tournaments will be held at malls across the country where EB Games retail stores are located.

As a sponsor, GameFly will offer free trials of its popular game rental service, both at the V Games website as well as on-site at the 30-city locations where the games are being held. All registrants for the V Games will receive a bonus 14-day free trial to GameFly, and the five V Games tournament champions will each receive a 1-year free membership to GameFly.
