Trouble with Gravis Joysticks?
by Paul

Friday, August 15 2003

Joystick trouble and Flashpoint modding in today's letters.

Hello,

I have just obtained Fighter Ace 3.5. I am having problems trying to calibrate my joystick for this game. It keeps giving the message "calibration failure, please perform a Windows calibration". I have done this with no success. I also have a friend who is having the same problem. He has resorted to using the keyboard. The Joystick I have is a Gravis Eliminator Precision Pro. I`m hoping you may be able to help.

John-Paul Hunter

Hello John-Paul,

Although I'd like to know what your system configuration is to really find out what is happening, I would guess that you have a driver failure of some sort.

1) Did the drivers included install properly?

2) Have you checked the home website of Gravis for new drivers?

If you are running Windows XP, that could be a problem and I suggest downloading Gravis' 10.4 MB patch from the following link (patch is right at the top of the page): http://www.gravis.com/support/sup_1037.html

If none of the above is the problem, then I can try and contact Gravis directly.

Paul

Beyond the (Flashpoint) Box

Operation: Flashpoint is sheer briliance by far the most intelligent game on the market,my question is will there be more upgrades or extra missions developed?if so when?

David

Although no official upgrades have been announced since the solid Resistance add-on, there are huge fan communities that have literally hundreds of new maps, vehicles, weapons, and even eras that can be downloaded and installed into your game.

Here are a few links for you to explore:
