Veteran jerk off angers lowly newbs in Fighter Ace 3.5.
Heyas,
i know its been a while, but my computer died on me and i was looking for the Fighter Ace Website to faverates it again, and i ran into your artical on the game when i was searching for it. And i noticed you mentioned that durring the time you were playing the game you saw a guy with 40+ Kills just murdering people that enterd the game. And that the guys at VR1 should implament some type of restriction that lets the new players leanr the game withough a "ace" killing them every 5 seconds. As far as i knew they DID have a system for that. The game keeps track of your kills and gives you a "rank" such as a sargent, or general based on your kills/daths. Some rooms limit the rank you can have, and if you are to high of a rank for that given room it dosnt let you in. What you may have seen was a Veteran with a new "handle" that was probably being a dick and killing the newer players while he was getting the rank of his new handle up. Which VR1 cant realky stop from happening. But most of the time when someone is a "vet" They cant get into the games that the new players are in. Unless the new players enter the higher ranked games.

I stand corrected on the "different" servers claim. Jaleco does indeed offer servers for players of differing skill. Just goes to show you that the average VGLN.com reader is at least twice as smart as anyone on VGLN staff.
Still the point stands I believe. Any veteran wanting to get some ego boosting kills can create a new handle and jump into "newb" servers, and dish out ass kickings at will. When I previewed this game, believe me, it was happening commonly. You would see literal Red Baron "newbies" (in reality they were veterans) crashing supposed "newbie" servers with impunity and knocking newb after newb out of the sky. What's the solution? Perhaps a moderator can fly around the different novice servers and check to see if any planes are showing exceptional skill and then promote them on the spot to force them to move into the veteran servers. Of course, suggestions from the readers are always welcome.
