by Jolex Del Pilar

Thursday, June 20, 2002

Screenshots, movies and some information on the classic adventure game can be found at the website..

Fans of the classic 1980's coin-op phenomenon now have the ultimate resource for all things Dragon's Lair 3D: the newly launched www.dragonslair3d.com. This official website offers lots of great information on this legendary franchise - from the latest on the upcoming Dragon's Lair 3D : Return to the Lair videogame, action figures and strategy guide, to fascinating trivia, background and history on the arcade game. It also includes a forum for Dragon's Lair fans to exchange messages.

The site centers on the upcoming Dragon's Lair 3D videogame, which is scheduled to ship this fall simultaneously for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Nintendo GameCube , Microsoft Xbox , PC and Macintosh . This completely new, built-from-the-ground-up game will dramatically expand upon previous Dragon's Lair video, laser disc and arcade gameplay. Players will experience true 3D experience; over a dozen new characters; 43 massive areas and more than 250 new rooms to explore; new intro and ending movies created by legendary animator Don Bluth; an original music score, a new theme song; and much more.

"All of us collaborating on Dragon's Lair are continually amazed and delighted by the enthusiasm fans have shown year after year for Dirk the Daring, Princess Daphne, the animation and the story," said Rick Dyer, president and CEO of Dragon's Lair LLC, Dragonstone Software and the game's original designer. "The new web site offers us the perfect opportunity to communicate directly with our fans and provides a forum for them to exchange messages with their Dragon's Lair friends. As the Dragon's Lair 3D launch draws closer, the website will be THE destination for up-to-the-minute details on the game's availability."
