Square Enix has targetted October as Final Fantasy month.
Square Enix U.S.A., Inc. announced that they will begin shipping the Windows version of Final Fantasy XI to North American retailers in late October.
The, already released in Japan, has garnered over 250,000 subscribers in the far east. A version is planned for the PS2 and players of both versions will be able to interact in the same game world. The PS2 version is said to be launching in October as well, when the PS2 hard drive debuts, supposedly around the same time as the launch of the game.
Like all SOE games, PC owners will get a month of free online play, after which they will be required to pay a $12.95 per month subscription fee for a 1 character account. Additional characters will cost $1.00 extra per month.
