Funcom has reported that the launch of Anarchy Online: Shadowlands has been successful. "The launch of the expansion went exceptionally smooth, and the initial feedback has been very positive," said a Funcom spokeswoman. New membership is reported to be in the "tens of thousands".
Shadowlands is the 2nd expansion to the Anarchy Online series which launched in mid-2001. Anarchy Online Notum Wars preceded Shadowlands.
The trials the players must overcome takes them through wildly diverse landscapes, all with unique ambience and setting. Ranging from the celestial Elysium through beautiful underwater areas to the frozen Penumbra and the hellish Inferno; Shadowlands makes the Anarchy Online experience more entertaining than ever before.
