Max Gaming opens up site to sign up for initial beta test.
Max Gaming Technologies announced today the launch of Dark Horizons: Lore Open Beta. Applications taken at www.darkhorizons-lore.com/beta.
Max Gaming is opening a thousand seat beta test for Lore to engage a broad player audience in testing the game. Lore will use a persistent character technology to track and meta map the development of the game space. In addition to testing the backend technologies the player community will be invited in this early release to being collaborating with the game developers on possible sanctioned mods for the game.
“We’re passionate about building a mecha game with our players and as independent self-funded developers we believe that genuinely engaging with the game community from the very beginning is mission critical,” comments Adrian Wright founder of Max Gaming. “I’ve been designing and building the Dark Horizons Universe for over 5 years and the Lore FPS/Mecha game since last February and getting a chance to play it with some of the guys I’ve been playing with and competing against in the mecha community for the last 15 years is very rewarding, our teams passion, feedback and input is what will make Lore best of breed.”
“Developing any commercially viable game is a huge undertaking, for an independent developer the game has to compete on its merits and can’t hide behind hype. With a mecha game you have a very mature fan base that knows what it wants, our goal is to build a games with our players that is the quality of mecha game we’ve all been looking to play,” says Edward Gardner, Lore Project Lead and Vice President of Max Gaming Technologies. “Even this open beta has changed dramatically based on feedback we received from the closed beta and developers who played the game at IGC – finding the ultimate sweet spot will be the result of ‘doing more together’ with our community ‘than we could’ on our own.”
