Halo for Windows Worldwide Championship
by VGLN Staff

Tuesday, November 11, 2003

Prizes include Radeon video cards and Alienware rigs.

Microsoft Game Studios, iGames and EB Games today announced signups have officially begun for the Halo for Windows Worldwide Championship. The international event will pit thousands of top Halo players from around the world against each other for a chance at some big-time prizes; after the dust settles, only one player will emerge to be crowned the world's best Halo gamer. For information about registration and a list of participating iGames centers in North America, visit http://www.igames.org/Events.asp?Event=1596, any local EB Games store or online at http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/ads/promos/halotournament/.

The Halo for Windows Worldwide Championship is truly a global event, spanning over 134 iGames centers across five continents, including locations in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Japan, Taiwan, Australia and United Kingdom. Starting November 15, each region will host qualifying tournament rounds to determine a regional champ. The resulting finalists will then fly to Los Angeles in early 2004 for the ultimate showdown to determine who is the best Halo player on the planet.

Prizes for the worldwide finals include 16 RADEON 9800 PRO graphics cards by ATI . The top three finalists will walk away with an Alienware Aurora gaming rig from Alienware and AMD. And of course the top winner will be crowned Halo Worldwide Champion with all bragging rights included. In addition, the top player from North America (US and Canada) will walk away with a Gateway 42" Plasma TV and a Gateway 710G Gaming PC. More information on how to enter one of the three qualifying round events, plus tournament rules, can be found at http://igames.org/tournaments/MiniNewsView.asp?MiniID=3&AssetID=24.
