EA releases web based "EA Football"
by VGLN Staff

Wednesday, November 12, 2003

It's not Madden, but it's free and that's all that counts.

The kickoff begins today with the launch of EA SPORTS All-Star Football, Electronic Arts’ latest web football game that will keep fans coming back for more. EA SPORTS All-Star Football features a Scrimmage Mode or a persistent-full season. Go to http://www.easports.com/free/home.jsp to try it out.

Game In Brief:
Written in java and requiring no plug-ins, All-Star Football features 10 teams each with unique strengths and player stats. Users will pick their team to play in one of two modes; Scrimmage Mode or Season Mode which consists of 9 regular season games, a Division Playoff and the highly anticipated EA SPORTS Bowl. From a top-down perspective, users can pick the play and control the Quarterback to either scramble, dish-off to the running back or pass to make their way to the end zone. The more you play, the more your player can get promoted based on their performance and reach All-Star Gold status. It’s football season – don’t miss it. Gear up and hit the field.

Game Features

- Top-down view of the field

- 6 plays to choose among in each category – Pass, Run and Defense

- One-button passing

- Promote players based on their performance

- Fake out other players on the field for long gains

- In-game bonuses for jackpot spins
