SquareSoft has recently released over three minutes of footage for its next game in the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy XI. This installment is a great departure from past titles as FFXI can only be played online. The trailer weighs in at a hefty 54.8 megabytes, so you dial-up users can expect an overnight download.
The game is currently in beta testing and will be released for the PlayStation 2 in Japan some time in the coming months. As for FFXI's North American release, expect a Q4 2002/Q1 2003 timetable.
