With the announcement of Sony's online plans, the company has decided to bring the popular RPG to the PS2.
Sony Online Entertainment Inc. (SOE), the developer behind massively multiplayer games such as EverQuest and the upcoming Star Wars Galaxies, has announced it has become an official PlayStation 2 developer. SOE’s first order of business will be to develop and publish EverQuest Online Adventures for the PS2.
Designed to utilize the PS2’s broadband adapter—which should be released this August—EverQuest Online Adventures will feature a virtual, online world made famous by its older, PC sibling. For PS2 users, connecting to the dedicated servers will be as easy as inserting a disc and pressing a few buttons.
EverQuest Online Adventures is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2003.
