Sony ships 30 million PS2 gaming consoles! by

Sony's biggest share is in North America, with Japan a close second.
Sony Computer Entertainment issued a press release today stating that it has shipped its 30 millionth PlayStation 2 worldwide.
As of May 5, 2002, the company had shipped 11.3 million units in North America, 9.9 million in Japan and Asia and 8.8 million in European and other PAL markets.
Sony reached the 26 million units shipped plateau in February.
