VGLN just finished their tour with Konami's PR people who had much to say but didn't have "the thing to say" (MGS on XBox).
Konami, as usual, had many exciting titles to announce today at E3. Most of the support was for the PS2 console although some GBA and Gamecube titles managed to sneak into the release schedule.
For the PS2, a few games caught our eye. Suikoden 3 was particularly beautiful. It featured a very smooth running polygonal engine and the game will not be "cel-shaded" as commonly believed. We expect our review copy around October, although the game officially is released in November (nyah nyah).
Contra: Shattered Soldier was particularly good looking. We haven't had a well made Contra game for years and perhaps this PS2 incarnation of the series will be the first of the next generation to do so.
DDR MAX was also announced today at E3. This is the PS2 incarnation of the famous dance-er-cise-game. It features over 85 tracks and upgraded visuals.
Konami also showed off it's "Evolution" series of sports games. These included Snowboarding, and Skateboarding.
Konami also is showing off it's new challenger to the NBA Live Crown with it's own basketball game, NBA Starting 5. It looked good from first impressions, however it was not playable.
