Final Fantasy X is platinum times five

Squaresoft has reported shipping over five million units of the highly successful game.

Square Co. announced today that global shipments of its PlayStation 2 title Final Fantasy X have surpassed the five million mark.

The game launched in Japan last July 19 and debuted in North America December 18, 2001. Shipments have totaled 2.74 million in Japan, 1.47 million in North America, 840,000 in Europe and 20,000 in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan
