Changes will help company focus more on broadband options.
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has changed its mangagement team a bit, promoting a number of executives as part of an increased focus on broadband gaming services.
Andrew House, formerly senior vice-president of marketing, and former sales executive Jack Tretton were both named executive vice-presidents and made officers in SCEA’s parent company, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). Previously, SCEA CEO Kaz Hirai was the only SCEA officer with an executive position with SCE. According to an SCEA spokesperson, House will retain most of his former duties, including working with third-party publishers. Tretton will also maintain most of his former job duties, with the added duty of overseeing SCEA’s internal game development group, which Hirai previously handled. Jim Bass, who was vice-president of finance, was named chief financial officer, and Masayuki Chatani, in charge of SCEA’s technology efforts, was named to head up SCEA’s new Broadband Strategy Group.
