A DivX software tuner is now available for the PS2 courtesy of DivXNetworks and BroadQ LLC.
DivXNetworks, Inc. and BroadQ LLC today announced the release of BroadQ’s QCast tuner software for the PlayStation 2.
The company is now shipping a preview version of the software to all those who placed pre-orders. When the final version of the software is completed, it too will be passed along to the consumers who purchased QCast. With the software installed, PS2 owners can use their console to play back DivX encoded video at a resolution of up to 720x320. The preview version supports version five of DivX and all previous versions. QCast also supports MP3 audio, and MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video formats.
QCast currently sells for $49.95 and is available on BroadQ’s website.
