Classic hero is revived on next generation hardware.
Tecmo, Inc. has released Rygar: The Legendary Adventure for the PlayStation 2 to retailers nationwide.
The revived hero returns after an almost 15 year absence from the videogame world. Rygar last appeared on Nintendo’s NES in 1987, following an arcade release the year previously. The new action-adventure will have players leading Rygar through the Island of Argus, on a mission to save a princess and restore order to the land. Along the way Rygar, armed with his Diskarmor shield, will have to deal with a series of over 70 enemies, including mammoth level bosses.
The first shipment of the Greek Mythology-inspired game will contain a limited edition “lenticular” cover, or cards that show an action sequence as they are rotated. One of two cards will be included with each game in its initial offering at retail.
Rygar: The Legendary Adventure is rated “T” (Teen) and carries an MSRP of $49.99.
