The PSP has some ambitious specs including wireless multiplayer capability.
Sony officially announced some specs for its upcoming handheld gaming system, the Sony PSP, and it looks like Nintendo's Gameboy Advanced might have some competition on its hands.
The PSP, due to release in the fourth quarter of 2004, will feature some interesting and advanced features including wireless LAN, full 3D capabilities, a color screen and a new high-capacity optical disc created especially for it. Sony also said the new device would be able to play movies and music of different formats.
Already, Sony has begun to send out dev kits to key software companies. The PSP would "make it's debut at the next E3 show in may" and then again at the Tokyo Game Show during 4th quarter 2004 said a Sony spokesman.
