Xbox engineer has left Microsoft to pursue other career goals.
Reuters is reporting that Seamus Blackley, widely recognized as the “father” of the Xbox, has resigned from the Microsoft Corp. Blackley left his position as Xbox Technology Officer (XTO) to pursue “other opportunities,” details of which a Blackley spokesman indicated would not be discussed for at least another two weeks. Before joining Microsoft as head of its Advanced Technology Group, Blackley had stints at DreamWorks’s game studio (Trespasser) and Looking Glass Studios (System Shock, Flight Unlimited).
