Dead or Alive 3
by

One of the prettiest fightings game we've seen in quite a while.

Title:
Dead or Alive 3

Platform:
Xbox

Publisher:
Temco

Developer:
Temco

# of Players: 1-2

Genre: Fighting

Origin: Japan

Expected Release: Out now!

Grapevine: "The really cool thing is that since we have a hard drive we will be able to download costumes and movies."

This game has totally different menus and style. When you first start out you are in a view of the ocean and it changes to various levels in the game. You have about 10 choices to make: story mode, time attack, survival, sparring, team battle, tag battle mode, watch mode (very cool because they have bullet time), and theater mode. When you fight you notice that the health bars are different than the doa2 health bars. It's much improved. The character selection screen is basically the same but still cool as ever. It tells the fighting style, weight and hight. The beginning movie is ok but it would have been better if it had the same cgi graphics like in the ending movies.

There are not enough words to express the detail, the beauty, the fantastic backgrounds. The game "is" the best looking game out for any system and it's wonderful. The characters are fantastic, especially the girls ;). All the graphics are 3-d not 2-d which is good, there are about 15 levels with something totally different from the other in each of them. The ending CGI movies are just breathtaking! It is hard to believe they are not real.

The game will start however you want it. You can spar or just get a buddy or do story mode. In story mode your objective is to beat 7 people and one boss. When you beat it with all 16 people you will get theater mode, EIN, and random select. The really cool thing is that since we have a hard drive we will be able to download costumes and movies. Which oxm has already done! There about 23 new costumes and they are all really cool and sexy! There are a ton of things to do. You will have a lot of fun with this game with 4 people mostly because you're on one screen not 4 which is great

The replay value is great but not all there. The way it's not there is that there is nothing else to do once you beat the game, you just have to play around until you friends come over then you would have a ball. With many modes and 17 chacercter and about 60 costumes with the expansion (32 without it) Dead or Alive 3's replay value is high but it slowly decreses but when your buds come over for some multiplayer action, the value goes through the roof once again.

Excellent cinematic battles.
Replay Value: [9.0]
Great fun for years to come, especially for the fighting game fans.
Global Score: [9.0]
Great fighting game, not on par with Virtua Fighter 4, but still a good game on its own merits.
