Mickey and Pluto playing football...basketball? Watch out Michael!

KONAMI and Disney Interactive today announced an agreement to develop and market a video game series of sports product tentatively titled Disney All-Star Sports, featuring Mickey and his pals. The series will feature both team sports and extreme sports games, starring popular Disney characters as athletic all-stars. The six sport agreement includes; football, basketball, soccer, snowboarding, skateboarding and motocross, which will be available only on Nintendo Game Cube(tm) and Nintendo Game Boy(r) Advance(tm) this Fall.

Combining the high-energy fun of each sport with the storytelling, humor and imagination of Disney, Disney All-Star Sports puts an extreme twist on sports console games, helping players get into the action with their favorite animated athletes. Disney All-Star Sports will deliver arcade-style action, multiplayer gaming, stunning graphics and a hip new attitude for some of the best-loved Disney personalities, including Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Max and Big Bad Pete.

“Konami is excited to bring a whole new experience to console sports fans,” said Tomofumi Gotsubo, president, Konami of America, Inc. “Disney’s all-star cast of beloved characters combined with arcade-style sports games will yield incredible success for this new series.”

“Gamers, sports fans, and Disney fans alike will enjoy playing the Disney All-Star Sports games with their favorite Disney characters," said Jan Smith, president, Disney Interactive. ”Disney Interactive is pleased to be working with Konami on this important company initiative.”
