iFone today announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Psygnosis, a Sony Computer Entertainment company, for the wireless rights to the Lemmings franchise.
According to the agreement, iFone has the exclusive wireless rights to publish Lemmings titles in Europe and North America. The first games under the deal are slated for release during Christmas 2004.
Morgan O'Rahilly, iFone CEO, stated, "The Lemmings franchise is an excellent fit for the wireless gaming environment - it is already a huge brand, it is incredibly addictive and fits the small form factor perfectly."
Since its debut in 1990, the Lemmings franchise has sold over 10 million copies.
