Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 ships to retail
by Kit

Tuesday, July 13 2004

Sequel will offer 35 new songs.

Konami Digital Entertainment - America, a division of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced that Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 for the PlayStation(r)2 computer entertainment system has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. The follow-up to Time Magazine's #1 video game of 2003 will once again have players exercising their vocal chords - rather than their thumbs - through the use of any PlayStation 2 headset/microphone peripheral. Utilizing the same unique proprietary voice analyzer technology to judge players on pitch and rhythm, Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 will be the hit of every summer party with 35 new dance, pop, R&B country, and rock songs as well as new gameplay modes.

Living-room pop-stars will have the choice of 35 new songs, including current hits, "Toxic," "It's My Life" and "The First Cut Is The Deepest," mixed in with karaoke classics such as "Sweet Home Alabama," "Friends in Low Places" and "My Girl." Fans of every style of music will be able to find a favorite tune to show off their singing abilities.

Performances of these songs are made better through a series of enhancements designed to build upon the success of the original game. Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 introduces "Medley Mode," where up to five song clips can be strung together in rapid-fire succession - perfect for mixing up musical styles or for multi-player pass-the-mic action. A new Quick Play Mode allows players to dive right into singing from the main menu screen and the new Short Song Mode is perfect for quickly singing songs at karaoke parties. Would-be stars, however, can still work their way from amateur singer to the next pop sensation through an enhanced Showtime Mode - complete with new venues, characters, and songs - or go head-to-head with friends in the Arcade or Karaoke Modes. Rounding out the package are new, unlockable outfits and hidden items that will give players a reason to sing their heart out.

Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 is rated "E" for Everyone by the ESRB and is available for an SRP of $39.99. For more information on this latest pop sensation, please visit http://www.konami.com/karaoke2.
