Sega Corp. has released financial details from its 2003/2004 fiscal year, which ended March 31, 2004.
Total sales dropped some 3.0 percent from the previous fiscal year to 191.26 billion yen (approximately $1.7 billion U.S.), while group net profit skyrocketed to 8.76 billion yen (approximately $76.7 million U.S.), from 3.05 billion yen (approximately $26.7 million U.S.) one year earlier.
For its current fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2005, Sega is calling for sales of 204.0 billion (approximately $1.8 billion U.S.) and group net profit of 8.0 billion yen (approximately $70.1 million U.S.).
The company attributed its strong results to a burgeoning arcade business.
